I might be stupid but who knows? There were no exterior screws that I could find the key didn’t allow access to any hidden holes or special tricks, if anyone knows how this was suppose to be properly removed I would love to know. : Locksmith

It’s a Lori Lock. When on a door, remove the 2 screws on the bolt plate (edge of the door) and the plate can be removed with the rest of the bolt staying in the door. To the sides of the bolt are 2 narrow holes, which reach all the way back to the 2 set screws visible in your third image. Loosen those with an Allen key and Bob’s your auntie.

We just moved into our office and want keyless entry with fob or key card (not a keypad). Does anybody make a key card reader that you can just replace this current deadbolt with without screwing new holes (property manager wants to be able to revert easily). What do I buy? : Locksmith

The short answer is no.

You really need a competent locksmith to come talk with you about your options. Search online for locksmiths who advertise commercial work. Most importantly, read the reviews from other customers. Also, if he comes out and you don’t like him, maybe he’s rude, or feel that he doesn’t know what he’s doing, call someone else. A novice or incompetent locksmith can really screw this up. If you can locate a city or regional locksmith association and get recommendations from them, you’ll be way ahead. An example would be the Greater Houston Locksmith Assoc.

Another farmhouse job. I did one of these today. The customer wanted to keep the integrity of ‘this old house’ and bought this kit. All in all it wasn’t a direct drop in replace ment so I had to fill some holes and drill some new. The lock is solid but the screws could have been thicker and longer.

Name of this type of deadbolt? Need to buy a similar one but with screw holes slightly offset down as an standard deadbolt : Locksmith

I am trying to adapt an existing smart lock with this type of deadbolt for an sliding door I have. When I do my searches this type of lock never shows up and on Alibaba.com this one shows as bathroom sliding door deadbolt, which is not really what it is. This one would be great, except for the screw holes not being offset as many of the standard deadbolts mechanism.
