My girlfriend is dead set on studying to become a locksmith, she holds the profession in very high regard and I wish to support her in her goal to the best of my ability. I’ve done some research on here, and elsewhere, and I understand clearly that apprenticeship is the best path to achieving her goal. She also understands she must pursue local apprenticeship. Yet, unfortunately such opportunities are limited by COVID-19 in our area due to widespread business closure.
She’s asked me to locate online courses to prepare her for when businesses reopen, to make her more competitive for apprenticeships, but also so she can gain meaningful knowledge and training.
Problem is, many such courses present themselves online, and with no central certification authority, it’s proven impossible for me to assess which courses are of value and which may be a rip-off. They also come at a variety of different price-points.
I am humbly asking if any of the experts here are able and willing to point us in the direction of some meaningful online education in this area? What are some reputable providers of online learning material, or maybe you could help us steer clear of bad ones, tell us red flags to watch out for. She wants to train up, as best she can during the Covid shut down, to the point she is able to begin competently applying for apprenticeships later this year.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Please help us “unlock” her potential and her passion to become a locksmith 😀 Thanks very much.
