Hummer H3 with 2015 GMC Truck Keyfob : Locksmith

Hello locksmiths, I hope I’m in the right subreddit otherwise I’d appreciate any redirection.

I’m basically wanting to get a new remote key. Simply with lock and unlock.

I have a 2007 Hummer H3. I really would like to get a new keyfob that looks just like the 2015 and newer gmc/Chevy trucks.

Is that even possible with my vehicle? If I take it to a locksmith in town can they do it or is there a kit online that I need to order.

I haven’t found anyone that has done this before yet. I also haven’t found a retrofit key that works with my hummer.

Note: Hummers and Chevy colorados and gmc canyons are very similar in pets and programming.

Recently got a dodge truck the only problem is that it has no key. Pulled the doors lock cylinder but the only problem is that I don’t really have a locksmith around me. I had someone tell me to buy a few blanks and file them till I get a good match. Any tips on how to do this? : Locksmith

If you’ve never done it in your life, you’re better off just buying replacements with keys. As for instructions on how to file a key, I’m personally not too keen on revealing that information to non-locksmiths. I’ll let someone else handle that should they choose to.

I am making a lost key to a Ford pickup truck by pulling the door lock out and reading the wafers tumblers in the door lock. This will only give me part of the key oh, the rest of the key is found in the ignition lock cylinder.
